The Ember Awards submissions are now open! This has been a long time coming, and we are excited to once again highlight the best of the best in Alberta’s Interactive and Digital Media landscape over the past two years.

Despite the blip that put our awards on hold in 2020, we are looking forward to seeing the excitement and energy of the 2021 Ember applicants.

We will be highlighting the winners in mid-January 2022 through a series of online events. The winners will also receive a one-of-a-kind non-fungible token (NFT) to celebrate their success.

New Awards

The Ember Awards committee has revamped its award categories to better reflect what our community is working on, and to shine a bigger light on our heroes.

The new categories for digital products and innovations include Best Commercial Video, Best Immersive Technology, and Best Indie Game. The Embers has also created a series of new individual awards, including ones spotlighting Indigenous innovators, women in tech, volunteers, and up-and-coming talent.

How to apply

The contest is open to Alberta-based creators, and you may submit any work you launched in 2020 or 2021. Despite the rapidly changing work environment, contracts, and projects, we want to hear how your company found success through one of the most challenging periods in Alberta’s history!

Tell us why you think your company should be recognized for the work you have done. The deadline to apply for the 2021 Ember Awards is November 30.
